Topic Research: Gods and Goddesses of Japan

Izanagi as a creation myth is quite interesting, and so his story could be used and rewritten in a different time period, but involving the same circumstances, such as a dystopic world with the rules of the myth being rewritten as rules of the city they live in, like how Izanami couldn't leave an area after eating food from it. Susanoo's killing of Orochi is a tale I enjoyed reading, and could definitely be moved into some setting where a lone ranger defeats a beast for the sake of saving a damsel in distress. Tsukuyomi's relationship with Amaterasu is a love story that I could rewrite in a modern day setting between average people, keeping the names the same but changing the whole dynamic to be more realistic.
